    Addition enhances recycling program

Effective immediately, Spokane-area residents who have curbside recycling service available can place colored Code 2 (HDPE) plastic bottles and jars (no tubs or dishes) in their blue recycling bins. Previously, only Code 2 containers that were uncolored were accepted for curbside pickup. This change is the result of improvements in sorting capacity by area recycling centers.

More information on recycling plastics and other recycling and solid waste topics is available on the Spokane Regional Solid Waste System website at www.solidwaste.org and by calling the Recycling Hot Line, 625-68
