  Summer Crime Prevention, Next Mobile Office June 19th: May/June E-News

  Summer in Spokane is a glorious thing. Beautiful evenings on the porch, flower gardens, taking a dip in one of Spokane's pools or an area lake. Summer is also unfortunately a time for increased crime...so remember to close/lock windows when you leave the house. Keep the garage door closed even if you are just around the corner. The volunteers at our COPS shops (like the wonderful gals at Northeast COPS in this photo) can give you great tips to prevent crime.   Prioritizing Public Safety Funding, Next Mobile Office May 7th: March/April 2013 E-News

  The Council has covered a lot of issues in the past seven weeks. The need to effectively resource public safety in Spokane has been a common theme. Even kids can play a role in improving safety. I participated in a youth leadership camp at the NE Community Center where we made the neighborhood safer by identifying cleanup opportunities. These kids did a great job!   Learning from the best in Kansas City, supporting entrepreneurs: Feb. 2013 E-News

  This Feb. e-news is arriving on March 1st...but it's a short month, right? I've crammed all the learning I can into the last 28 days. I had a great trip to Kansas City for the Smart Growth conference. This is a photo taken in the Power and Light District with Tracy Reich of Impact Capital. I brought back great info on how other cities are recruiting and supporting young entrepreneurs. You can read more about my trip here.
