  Big win for historic preservation & affordable housing, my first mobile office…March 2012 E-Newsletter

  On March 14th, I joined many neighbors, project coordinators, city and state agency staff at the grand opening of Agnes Kehoe Place, a 51 unit apartment community in the old Hillyard High School building on N. Regal. It's always such a joy to accomplish two outcomes in one project: more affordable housing for Spokane ANDpreservation of a beautiful, historic building. I'm pictured here with Jack Beeching of the WA State Housing and Finance Commission in one of the third floor rooms that feature spiral staircases and original schoolhouse doors and windows. Congratulations to Spokane Housing Authority and all the project developers and builders for an absolutely beautiful remodel.   New Council Highs and Lows: Jan/Feb 2012 E-Newsletter

  It's a new year and a new City Council with four new members and three returning members. This makeup has made for lively discussion, a lot of briefings, and new partnerships. With a new mayor also settling in, we've been taking the first steps toward developing the Council/Mayor relationship as it relates to legislative priorities, communicating effectively and clarifying roles/responsibilities.   Council passes 2012 budget, recap of year-end decisions
