Last week, as Chair of the Spokane Regional Health District Board, I was offered the chance to visit Tacoma for a Health/Equity in Transportation conference. The day-long workshop explored how to better understand transportation and housing policy in the context of social and health equity. Here's a photo I took during a tour of downtown Tacoma and the reclaimed waterway and UW-Tacoma campus. Many efforts have been made to revitalize this historic section of downtown Tacoma...and many challenges still remain. A full blog post will be forthcoming!
